Every great journey is a story.

My story begins a long time ago, when I was just a kid, as most stories do. Once upon a time, and all that. When I was in my teens, I was inspired by a teacher – they often say that a good teacher can change lives, and change mine he most certainly did; but the fact remains that I’ve always loved literature – I’m one of those people whose imagination is so vivid, that books play out like a movie in my head, and I am transported to worlds, to places, with the stroke of a pen on paper. Not to say his influence wasn’t great, it most certainly was, but the reality of literature and its impact on me has lead to me finally creating this space.

I wanted to be a teacher – I wanted to inspire just one kid to love the English language as much as I do, but life took me in a different direction – one that I don’t regret, by the way – and so now it’s too late for me to do that. But it’s not too late for me to make a difference.

My aim with this blog is to inspire; to instil some of my love for the written word into your heart and, hopefully, to have such an influence that it will last for a lifetime. A high aim, I know, but one I believe is possible. I don’t even have to know about it, but if just one person falls in love with literature, if just one person is inspired, if just one person thinks “wow, I never saw it this way before” then I’ve made a difference. And isn’t that all we really want to do in life? Make a difference?

I’m not preaching. I don’t expect everyone to fall in love with literature just because I say so, or just because I illustrate, hopefully, the many reasons there are to do so. My sole aim here, is to show my love of literature, and my hope is that it will be contagious – that my ramblings, my analyses and my passion for the written word will inspire you to maybe re-evaluate your ideas about it, and maybe, just maybe, bring you to love it, just as I do.

Of course, it’s not just about books. I’ll be posting about other things too, but it is going to mostly be about books. Or things related to books. Or things I think could or should be related to books!! There will probably be some rants too (likely about books!)
